Dev-log (8/30/2021)


Main level 

  • Added in locations to paint around the map. 
  • Added a simple objective UI. 
  • Added some enemies that either patrol or stand there. 
  • Added ambient sound that sounds like a cannery. 
  • Adjusted some of the colliders and boundaries slightly. 

Game over 

  • Added functionality for losing when fully detected by an enemy. 
  • A screen now pops up that says ‘busted’ and gives an option to restart or quit. 

Leaning 

  • Added camera tilt to leaning so it feels much better. 
  • Also made leaning cancel whenever the player moves. 

Bug Fixes and Tweaks 

  • Made wall jumping only work on certain levels as it was too inconsistent. 
  • Jumping should now work properly when on a downward slope. 
  • Fixed an issue where the player would sometimes stay stuck while trying to mantle, particularly on sloped ledges. 
  • Fixed a bug that allowed player to wall climb permanently on vertical ledges. 
  • Added two more button controls on the pause menu. 
  • Added paint particles when tagging a location. 
  • Changed some climbing and hit boxes on objects so they don’t feel unnatural. 
  • Gave the enemy a new mesh that makes them look like a guard rather than a mannequin 
  • Changed pause menu UI. 
  • Slightly decreased player sounds. 

Known Issues 

  • Enemy AI is still very buggy and has weird pathing. 
  • ‘Busted’ screen does not always unlock cursor and the restart button need to be pressed twice for the menu to go away.
